Holistic Life Cycle Management for BESS!

Batteries from Cradle to Cradle - Intelligent Planning for Efficient BESS Management

Battery Energy Storage Systems storage power stations are costly, but powerful. And they are often underutilized!

In this Webinar we combine the focus of the BESS from cradle to cradle so you will get an insight into what to be aware of before and after commissioning of your BESS.

Before commissioning a (BESS), it is essential for owners to thoroughly assess the system's quality and ensure it meets the required standards. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) plays a crucial role in identifying potential quality defects and ensuring the BESS operates safely and efficiently.

Dedicated battery monitoring continues to play a critical role even after commissioning the BESS. It helps to reduce unplanned downtime, minimize on-site maintenance and testing requirements, lower insurance costs, and extend the usable lifetime of the system. By actively monitoring the battery's performance, owners can optimize their total cost of ownership and maximize the benefits of their BESS investment. This will be proved by a real life example of anomaly detection.

Fire Water Burn – Understanding and Managing Battery Risk

The transformation of the transport sector towards eMobility is in full swing. The powertrains of both private motorised transport and local public transport are becoming increasingly electrified. For manufacturers, operators and owners of assets, the issues of safety, warranty and risk management are becoming increasingly important. Against the background of the reuse of battery assets and the development of a used car or 2nd life market for battery systems, these topics are becoming increasingly relevant.

So far, however, insurance for batteries in the mobility sector has fallen by the wayside. Missing or unevaluated data prevent qualitative and reliable statements about the battery condition and the opportunities or risks that develop from it. After all, the insurance industry assesses risks on the basis of statistics and data, and these only grow over time. In fast-growing, high-growth markets, the need for a transparent picture of the associated risks is therefore key.

New insurance offerings allow battery system manufacturers, vehicle producers as well as fleet operators and owners of stationary systems to share the known risks related to life expectancy beyond the standard warranty period, residual value and operational and fire risks.

In the long term, the protection offered should not only cover first life applications, but for the first time also corresponding 2nd life applications. The lack of experience of the still very young battery and eMobility market coupled with the enormous complexity of the electrochemical system of the battery, the insurance industry can only rely on real-time analyses in the future.

Which offers will emerge in the future, how live monitoring will work, how new business models will result from this and to what extent all this will run under the umbrella of data protection, we will clarify this webinar.

Optimizing E-Bus Fleets:
Increasing Usable Lifetime & Safety, Decreasing Total Cost of Ownership

The transformation of the transport sector towards eMobility is in full swing. The powertrains of both private motorised transport and local public transport are becoming increasingly electrified. In public transport in particular, the issues of safety and warranty are paramount, especially for bus operators and manufacturers.

However, there has been a complex information deficit between bus manufacturers and bus as well as fleet operators - not to mention the most expensive and most important component of the vehicle: the battery. Once the all-important warranty period has expired, extending it is usually expensive and there is no way to adequately test the battery before extending it.

Patchy testing procedures, short warranty periods and warranty extensions without real battery condition data thus counteract the focus on safety and warranty and open up the questions: On what data basis is the warranty for e-buses based? How can a warranty extension be given reliably for both sides? What is the value of a warranty if the relevant data is missing and how can warranties be evaluated?

Together with TÜV Nord Mobility Solutions, these questions will be put up for discussion and answered during the webinar. With examples from practice and real challenges, we will transparently present the pitfalls and difficulties that the transformation of public transport and fleet operators towards e-mobility has held in store so far. A broad insight into the use of our specially developed technology, which enables live monitoring of assets, we show an immediately implementable solution path for manufacturers, operators and fleet providers.

Optimizing ROI and Bankability of BESS Assets

The transformation of all sectors and economic areas towards a sustainable economy requires safe and reliable investments. However, investments must be both profitable and risk-free. Nevertheless, the market transformation of energy and power supply is characterised by a high degree of uncertainty. This is not only due to natural fluctuations in the energy supply that need to be balanced out, but especially in the storage of the same. But today's battery storage systems are not covered by reliable monitoring. Reliable statements about the state of health, charge and power are usually missing. This leads to breakdowns, misinvestments and frustration. Yet battery diagnostics technologies are already suitable for series production and simple to implement.

With this webinar, our goal is to educate investors, banks, asset owners and innovation drivers about battery monitoring, bankability and safety factors in a joint webinar with the topic Optimizing ROI and Bankability of BESS Assets.
